Domestic Abuse Services Edited

General Needs Refuge

Last year in our refuges we supported 95 women escaping abuse from across the country. We offer tenancies for up to 1 year and all of our residents receive tailored support from an on-site domestic violence worker.

Substance Misuse Refuge

Our substance misuse refuge provides specialist support for women who have experienced domestic abuse and are struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. Our on-site drug and alcohol specialist provides holistic support to help residents get to the root of their addictions and plan drug and alcohol free futures. Please note, currently we can only accept referrals directly from Greenwich council for this service.

Support for Children

Domestic violence has a devastating impact on children but with support, children can begin to overcome the trauma of witnessing or experiencing abuse and go on to live safe, happy lives. Housing for Women provides specialist support and activities for children affected by domestic abuse in our refuges. Children's Support Workers help children to process trauma in a safe and secure environment. Our support includes: one-to-one key work sessions; therapeutic activities; support for mothers with rebuilding healthy parent child relationships and group outings.
