Forced marriage and honour-based abuse

In the UK you cannot be forced into marriage, abuse and violence for any reason. It is against the law.

It is not acceptable for anyone to use physical violence or emotional pressure to make you marry someone, without your free and full consent.

In the same way, threatening or using violence to prevent you from bringing dishonour or shame upon yourself or them is not acceptable either.
